Pure Surfing

The latest Pew Survey on Internet usage is out. “The proportion of that daily population who are doing some well-known Internet activities”:

  • Email 77%
  • Search engine 63%
  • Get news 46%
  • Do job-related research 29%
  • Use instant messaging 18%
  • Do online banking 18%
  • Take part in chat room 8%
  • Make a travel reservation 5%
  • Read blogs 3%
  • Participate in online auction 3%

Of course, people are widely citing the jump of the “search” activity and reading blogs makes a dent too although not a significant one. But haven’t they missed out couple of important “activities” on the Internet? Yup, where the heck is pron and gambling?

Porn is (not very well, though) hidden under “job-related”.

Seems like more people are looking than finding.

They have left out porn surfing which is suppose to be one of the most popular activity. or maybe the respondents won’t give a fair response after all..

Is this the same world we are living in? No posts from Patrix in the past mmm..five days? Come on dude. Atleast throw us a linking park.

Avi, and whose job would entail searching for porn?

    Fanny, whoa! thatz deep.

Ramana, doesn’t get too cliched than that, eh?

Twilight, looks like people are more interested in looking up stuff than blogging…don’t worry, our time will come. So has Delhi changed in six months? :)

Queer, sorry no access to cable. Hope you watch it and update me :)

Tony, you may be right. People are more likely to lie about their porn-surfing habits.

Smiley, don’t worry, I am back! I didn’t know Linking Park was even noticed; it will be back next week.
