Nerve Endings Firing Away

So finally I reached Bahrain after taking a rather hectic and circuitous route via three airports; not too pleasant airports I might add. We land in Bahrain and find out that our bags have decided to extend their vacation in Paris; checking out the Louvre, I presume. I am sitting here in Ash’s dad’s PJs (nooo! he isn’t wearing them) and that certainly isn’t a great way to start off your relationship with your future in-laws. But I guess that definitely beats sitting around in your stinky clothes bearing the smell of three smelly airports. By the way, talking of smelly airports I realize that Paris now has a ‘brown’ section in their airport complex. Either that or they have just relegated all the Middle Eastern airlines to a ramshackle, dirty, and stained exposed concrete oddity that is passed off as an international terminal. To top that off, the ground crew is not too pleasant either. They just assume you are French. What? my brown skin doesn’t tip you off? I should have just used my imitation of ghaati Marathi to respond, kay ruh! tu kay bolte mala thav nai!

Now Ash’s mom is a regular reader of my blog, as I found out. Eeeks! she knows things about me that maybe even my mom doesn’t have an inkling of, not sure whether that’s a good thing or not. So as you might have guessed, I’ll have only good things to say about them. Nah! I’m kidding. They have made me feel right at home although ‘home’ still is 3 time zones away. I guess, now I can start calling this home too. I have quite a schedule planned and it feels great to be amongst family. I just had the most scrumptious breakfast in ages and the smell of the mutton curry wafting in through the stairwell as I write this makes me wish that dinner time comes sooner than expected.
