Tendulkar Darshan
Now, this may also sound like one of those LJ-type teenagerish posts [disclaimer: that is not necessarily a bad thing]. We stayed back in Khar on Thursday evening as it was too late to leave for Panvel and my dad is known to sleep at the wheel. He has had a near-fatal crash once so he doesn’t risk it anymore. We started early next morning at around 6am. As we approached the junction toward Bandra-Kurla complex on Western Express highway, we saw a flashy red car right in front of us. My dad instantly recognized the ever-brilliant Ferrari (I initially thought it was a Corvette; yeah, shame on me!). My mom innocently remarked that Sachin (Tendulkar) had a similar car. What if it was him? Nah! I said, I don’t think he would risk his Ferrari on Mumbai roads.
But as we pulled up next to the Ferrari, we were shocked to see that it was indeed Sachin and he was right there! My dad called out to him and he looked in our direction and waved back with a hint of a smile. I struggled to pull out my digicam to take a picture but just as luck would have it, he simply whooshed by. If he was in any other car than in a Ferrari, I would have got a great shot ekdum paparazzi style. After we watched his car vanish in the distance, we all were still feeling damn kicked at seeing the master blaster. Of course, the BEST bus screeching wildly just inches from my dad’s door rudely brought us back to earth. I have never been a celeb-sighting fan and hardly give a second look to any celeb-sightings that are so common in Mumbai. But I must admit I was still experiencing a high full thirty minutes after we had seen Sachin. I guess that guy just exudes magic.
