its pretty excitting here that weve made the world cup, but have a tough opponent in japen in the first round so hopefully we'll have some success.

i cant wait for the football world cup.<br

You really do hang around the blogsphere, don't you? Thanks!
I am in South Jersey, close to Phili, only way I can watch the matches is to go down to Phili. I will do that for the important matches for sure...

Pat,

You really do hang around the blogsphere, don’t you? Anyway, check out the Chinese pirate link and hope that it still works when the World Cup gets underway.

Confused, that’s too bad. I am going to miss out on the World Cup. In my little town, no one seems to have heard of the game called football. Wish I was on the other campus which has a much larger number of international students. Do you know any site which is planning to carry the game live on the net? I am checking on the bars but....

Patrix,

I am going to miss out on the World Cup. Brazil definitely looks most likely to win except now they have won it far too many times and is getting boring now. There are more upsets in the Euro Cup than in the World Cup.

Somebody, I can totally understand your pain. At least the WC was held in the US in '94. But I see the interest in 'soccer' growing ever so gradually and thankfully to a large body of international students in college towns, it isn't so bad.

Bongo, I hope you can sneak out to watch the games…DVR is fine but live is where the fun is. Thankfully, we have a pretty diverse population here in the Triangle area of NC and a lot of bars are carrying the game live (many have advertised the schedules outside). Right now, a friend and I are trying to figure out imaginative ways of slipping out of work in the afternoons/mornings to catch some games in the nearby bars. Otherwise will have to DVR the games and resist the temptation to check the internet till I have chance to see the games in the evenings.
Watching the games with friends or at least a groups of loud supporters is really exciting.
Btw, England is one team I would least like to win. I hate their whininess. As I menitoned over at DP, Brazil probably has the best chance of winning.

Patrix – totally share the enthusiasm for football.
