Absolutely right that we’d be in a whole load of trouble if that sign said something about India! To be fair many of the ‘developed’ countries fall in the same trouble despite outwardly signs of prosperity.

Does having LOADS of knowledge on roads make me a cultured human being?

Read so many posts of yours. As usual most of them are balanced and have a mature tone. But I still want to read that post of yours, about a Ramgopal Verma movie, Bhoot. You have written a post about it. But I can’t find it in archives. :-(
And, yes, a picture is worth a thousnad words. :-)

No alpha it does not. Especially because, despite that knowledge you still drive the way you do. Roads and traffic and driving are closely related – best not to bring up that topic.

Charu, if there isn’t then the day isn’t far when it just might be useful to have it.

30in2005, sure it does. There are always exceptions to any rule. I hope we just don’t use that slogan to advertise India Shining.

, as Gabby said, that ship unfortunately has sailed. Or rather if there exists a cultured human being, does it make him an expert on roads?

Alka, that post was a direct lift (with due attribution, of course) from my college’s discussion board. Here is the post. The live search function (top right on the sidebar) usually works the best.
