Not Again: Bomb Blasts in Bombay

Forgive the alliterative title; I was deeply saddened to hear the horrific news. The city of Bombay has been targetted yet again by Islamic terrorists (yeah! who else?). I have been busy trying to contact my folks back home after a casual email from Neha, one of our DesiPundit contributors.

This post might be a tad late but I was busy trying to find updates for DesiPundit after Vikram made a timely post. Amit Varma, Gaurav, Sepia Mutiny, and Ultra Brown are providing regular updates. The Mumbai Help blog has stepped in yet again to coordinate help and establish communications via email and SMS after the phone network went (or was brought) down.

I am still surfing through the various stories and accounts of people that experienced this terror. My family is safe and so are the rest of my acquaintances. All I worry about right now is the aftermath of the blasts.

As Amit fears, will the Shiv Sena threaten to retaliate and make the situation worse or simply concentrate on the task at hand i.e. to help survivors and ensure adequate medical aid is provided. The culprits shall be dealt with. i am sure the police have begun efforts at hounding them down. Given the nature of the attacks, it won’t be long until we have an idea about who exactly was behind these dastardly attacks. All fingers right now point to Islamic terrorists and probably aren’t off the mark either. Lets wait and watch.

Like we have done everytime? Sigh! Nothing will happen, we will punish the small timers and thats it.

Confused, news is filtering in that it may be Dawood again. And probably you are right, nothing will happen…again. I am pretty pissed enough to justify a Munich-style hit on him.

Patrix – glad to know you family is safe. I had a few nervous moments today morning trying to find out about my sister – she usually takes that route….thankfully she was working late.

I knows its kind of a selfish sentiment given so many people who werent as lucky….but self-preservation does come first I guess. Feel sorry for the victims and their families.

Hopefully, this time the goverment will actually take action instead of the usual spineless inactivity.

Bongo, I am glad that your sis is safe. It may be selfish to think of one’s loved ones first but I think it is completely justified so I wouldn’t be too hard on oneself. Lets hope for a reasonable reaction to this event.
