Night at the Roadhouse

We just need a reason to eat out and thankfully, Ash and I are avid food lovers. Try as much but we find it difficult to resist the temptations of an outside meal. If it weren’t for health concerns or financial constraints, I would eat out all the time. Restaurants are possibly the best business idea that man ever had. Someone once mentioned that having business interests in the education sector or the health sector is always going to be beneficial [quality and competition held constant, of course] because people will always want to learn and people keep falling sick. Add the food industry to that list because people always want an excuse not to cook.

Due to an unexpected windfall [just an excuse though], Ash and I pigged out at the local Texas Roadhouse on the weekend. We have always heard good things but had never tried the place before. A couple of times when we did try going there, we were deterred by the waiting crowds. However this time, we decided to wait it out; a good 30 minutes at that. The interiors are typical Texan complete with saddle seats for children and barrels of all you can eat peanuts. We helped ourselves to a bunch while waiting and wondering how much our dads would love that. The best part about eating peanut was that you could dump the shells right on the floor. The totally littered floor was proof of this luxury that you can never do at home lest moms throw a fit and not to mention, your sorry asses outta the room.

Yup! The Texas Roadhouse is a steakhouse. Of course, you get chicken and god forbid, even veggies but that would be like that Verizon guy asking for a phone in a hardware store. I ordered a scrumptious 12oz ribeye and Ash settled for a 6oz one. Slowly but surely, I managed to polish it off and washed it down with a margarita. I can imagine my mom fainting after reading this but as they like to claim, US la jaaon tu badala aahes. Probably but hey, I am not complaining. I enjoyed my dinner.

12 oz is nothing ! Can you finish 72oz of prime beef (along with the baked potato, salad, dinner roll and shrimp cocktail) at one go within an hour ? It will be on the house if you can ! ;-)

Bongo, I have ready for more. Actually I have heard of that story you linked and would love to try it (an 11-yr-old did it!) but my clogged arteries will kill me first.
