Terror in Malegaon
Terrorists struck in Maharashtra on Friday, killing at least 37 people and injuring over 100 in three blasts including one in a mosque in the communally sensitive Muslim-dominated town of Malegaon [source].
If some of you are thinking (wrongly so, I might add), why would “terrorists” kill “their own”, you’ll be missing the point. The objective of terrorists is almost always to spread terror; nothing more, nothing less. If Mumbai was “resilient” after the blasts couple of months back, they are trying to incite the ‘other community’ by hitting a sensitive place where history of communal riots exists. I refuse to believe that the government does not have intelligence on who exactly is behind these almost-periodic acts of terror. And if we do, how many lives do we have to lose – from any community – before we take proactive measures to curb such acts? I feel it is all a matter of political will or as someone from Mumbai would say, akal-bakal theek hai, g*** mein dum hona chaiyye.
