Bloggers earn more than journalists?
I came upon this website that lets you compare salaries in any profession in any region or city [US only, I guess]. You can even compare the same job in different cities or even compare different professions either overall or in a specific city. After checking for my profession in different cities, I popped in the evergreen debate of journalists versus bloggers to see how they fare.
Surprised, right? But I guess, the numbers are skewed by few high-earning bloggers. Also, they must be only including bloggers who claim to be professional bloggers and doing it on a full-time basis. If they included all 50 million+ cat-bloggers, the numbers might be different. What do you think?
PS. The resemblance of the color bars to the Indian tricolor is accidental. I am not that desi.

3 years ago replyGaurav, You’re right. Blogging does give you that luxury of living in an area with a low cost of living and yet enjoying the high levels of earning. The choice of blogging topics might also be important to earning the big bucks.
Sqrl, well, I don’t suppose they have done that. I’m sure that if blogging is considered as a profession for comparative purposes, then the earnings are related to the profession and not to the person earning it.

Bloggers do so/exist for the love of it, while Journalists work (it is a career}.Blogging, certainly, is rampant like a wild fire, emerging as a potent n genuine discussion forum in the global village, but am not sure the society is matured enough to consider it as a career option, unless the blogger is aligned to a firm/organisation.
Blogs need to stand for a cause,sustain its existence for long time, through catering to its readership as well as to enhance the base.as I touch upon this,I feel it’s more like being enterprising than carving a career for self..what do you?I could be impish in my conclusion…but

The indian tricolor is saffron/white/green. What you have is not the tricolor. Yup, you are not even that desi :)
