Self-Realization

“Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness, that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, and fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small doesn’t serve the world. There’s nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won’t feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine, as children do. We are born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It’s not just in some of us, it’s in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.”

Probably a tad Christian and even evangelical but I largely like Marianne Williamson’s hopeful and positive message, especially the last line. I last heard it in the movie, Akeelah and the Bee. Nelson Mandela also used it in his inauguration address in 1994. I won’t dissect it too much.

    Profound thought, Patrix!

Everything starts from us and everything ends with us.
I sit there, feeling so positive before a key presentation or a meeting, dont want to be ruffled by any idiot and his misinterpretation of the moment, when i am gathering that positive momentum….alas, the world has never been so kind as I expected it to be or I wanted to see it as….

Thank you for sharing this with us…

    Patrix…..

    my “new-found great thinker” wrote…

Even if you cannot shape your life as you want it,
    at least try this
as much as you can; do not debase it
in excessive contact with the world,
in the excessive movements and talk.

Do not debase it by taking it,
dragging it often and exposing it
    to the daily folly
    of relationships and associations,
until it becomes burdensome as an alien life….
