Three Mexicans who spent nine months drifting across the Pacific Ocean in a flimsy fishing boat eating raw fish and sea birds are to be paid at least $3.8 million to turn their story into a movie [source].
Don’t be hasty and crash your FedEx plane into the sea expecting to cash out after you are rescued. Remember, eating raw fish and sea birds, not to mention washing it all down with saltwater is also a part of the deal. Getting Lost on a scenic island with a bunch of crazy fellas might make for excellent primetime TV or even being adrift with a tiger might win you the Booker but I bet none of it is on your mind when you are actually at it. Such is the wonder of hindsight.
