Inclement Weather and Graduate Students
Cooped up at home for the past couple of days due to the winter storm passing through Texas. The spring semester that was supposed to start on Tuesday will finally begin tomorrow. After seeing plenty of sliding car videos on the news, we ventured out today after a long time [thanks to the car that was still not iced over] to pick up some groceries. In spite of the grocery store not being more than couple of blocks away, we ended up with a flat tire. Glad to have paid the AAA dues, I was glad to go back to the warmth of my home. Lesson learnt: never venture out even if you run out of tortillas.
As always, Jorge Cham manages to put it perfectly [click image to enlarge] although I’ll confess I didn’t quite live up to the expectations of a perfect graduate student [I hope my professors aren't reading this].
