Indibloggies 2006
As we usher in the new year, it is time to shed the friendly banter among bloggers and indulge in the fierce competition of bloggie awards. There are no Indian nominations in the international Bloggies so we have our own Indibloggies. Hosted painstakingly by noted Indic blogger, Debashish, it has achieved that sense of credibility needed to be taken seriously in the constantly argumentative world of Indian blogs.

And don’t be fooled by the tiny size of the Indian blogosphere, the prizes are woth more than Rs. 85,000 133,000 and includes a licensed version of Windows Vista Ultimate, Blogjet, couple of gym kits, and oodles of blog cred. The Indiblog of the Year award will get a Scrapture [not to be mistaken with the wasteland after the Rapture] thanks to Arun Verma.
There are five new categories this year with podcasting also making a late entry. The jury is working hard to nominate blogs and the general public is also encouraged to drop in their nominations. You may need an account on del.icio.us and a general understanding of tags or it isn’t too late to learn. If you are web 2.0 challenged, then drop in your nominations in the comments, I’ll nominate them for you. Don’t worry, there aren’t any prizes for nominations that I am trying to claim for your hard work. By some strange twist of circumstances, I find myself among the jurors. But that means, this blog is no longer eligible. Yeah, right as if it stands a chance of winning anything. Last time, it came close to winning anything was when it placed fourth [among five] in the Best Male Blogger category [thank heavens for the fifth dude].
So go ahead, contribute your mite to the Indibloggies. This might be the only time you can reward your favorite blogs.
