Nerve Endings Firing Away

In an effort to inundate you with Malakar news and subsequently drop the ‘serious-quotient’ of this blog to abysmal levels, I present to you Sanjaya Malakar’s talented cousin – Camila Recchi. Rumor has it that she will be trying out for next year’s American Idol. It seems that the Malakars are planning on owning American Idol for good and hogging all the attention until everyone just gets tired of them and banishes Idol to the nether world.

Camila’s MySpace profile page has a audio clip of a duet with Sanjaya. You decide if she is talented enough to avoid the hate flood. Well, at least she is white or looks white so that should help a little. And better still, she doesn’t have the dreaded Malakar tag. But then again, she is not as hot as her other cousin – Shyamali Malakar. Incidentally, she was on CNN’s Larry King Live with her mom to talk about Sanjaya. This is what she had to say about her cousin:

CAMILA RECCHI : I don’t think he deserves it [the fun they're making of Sanjaya]. I think he’s really sweet and wonderful. And he’s shown that he can take a beating from the judges and from America as well. I think he can pull it out a little bit more, but I definitely think he’s going strong. I’m very proud of him and very excited for him.KING: Do you think he can win the whole thing?

CAMILA RECCHI: Well, based on what we’ve seen, I honestly don’t know. I think he’s got a pretty fair chance. He’s got a big fan base.

She also thinks that Sanjaya has become a formidable American folk hero and is handling all the hate well. Thus ends my Sanjaya update. Now, go live your life.
