Confused, I don’t believe it would succeed (politically) either but as long as it has enough representation to counter the bullshit peddled by the Lefties, it would be enough. We live in the age of coalitions so even a small faction of divergent interests will keep the government honest and not let us shy away from the path that has brought us prosperity.

After all, as the free market proponent would say, let the market decide if such a party has any takers.

If only they believed in markets! I don’t think a quasi-libertarian party would achieve much political success. However, that doesn’t mean it shouldn’t exist!

Also, this Right of center movement has in itself many threads. I am not a libertarian, I think government has to play a bigger role than say Amit thinks. But at least lets have a party which is not apologetic about reforms!

Patrix, do you mean capitalism here? Conservatism and socialism are hardly mutually exclusive. I’d also argue that the US is not a champion of conservatism.
