Has it really been this long?
Like Pompy, who celebrated her birthday so beautifully, it’s been exactly a year since my nerve endings began firing away. I am surprised at myself that I have indeed maintained discipline in some aspect of my life, which incidentally isn’t going through its best phases. I have come close several times to quit blogging but instead went away on long breaks leaving cryptic messages. I wouldn’t be blogging today if it weren’t for the amazing comments from you. I have stopped fooling myself long back that I write merely for my pleasure but instead to pander to an audience. There are many communicators out there who though their simple words convey much more than my conjunction-riddled sentences ever can. There are lots who write more insightful posts than I even can dream of and weave stories so elegantly that you love the language for giving them the power to do so.
Like my usual diplomatic self, I will not mention any names for fear of missing out anyone. Despite the usual fears of trusting anyone online, I have made and heck, even met several friends whose company I cherish. Like Saif put it eloquently, everyone has a story and continue to weave stories as we meet new people that connect back to us. I definitely have been more aware of the world I live in and come across many diverse perspectives that I never knew existed.
I have maintained a distinct cyber identity — an alter ego Patrix that most of you identify with. I may share many common traits with Patrix but yet might be loathe admitting that I am entirely Patrix. Patrix is definitely more refined and intellectual than his creator but thankfully, has the conviction and courage to speak his mind and articulate arguments rationally. Patrix uses an incomprehensible vocabulary to explain simple facts of life whereas simple words that you take for granted stump his creator. He may appear arrogant, snobbish, standoffish and pseudo-intellectual but is a kind soul at heart who doesn’t bump people off his blogroll in fear of hurting them. Like it or not, he is here to stay and unless his creator kills him, be prepared to seeing him around.
Happy Birthday to Patrix.
