Is it just me or has anyone else noticed the increasing chatter on Iran’s role in aiding terrorists? The 9/11 commission report is out and fingers are being shakily pointed at Iran’s strictly Islamic regime for having allowed the terrorists to pass through. This is just the beginning of building a case against Iran for abetting the terrorists and posing a danger to the world. Part of the infamous Axis of Evil, Iran could very well be next on America’s grand plan of enforcing democracy in the Middle East. Moreover, Iran’s medieval Islamic hardliners’ opposition to anything remotely American is only well known in the civilized world. The Iranians have already developed uranium enriched nuclear plants albeit for peaceful purposes. But it doesn’t take a nuclear scientist to figure out that the ultimate purpose can be modified to more perilous objectives in a short time.

If intelligence gathers enough dirt on the Iranians, America will not hesitate to initiate a crackdown on Iraq’s neighbor and they might in fact find the rest of the world on their side this time around. The case for war will definitely be far more convincing this time around. The war plans wouldn’t change much and considering they just got a letter wrong in implicating the right country last time around.

But let us not jump the gun too soon. Iranians, as we know can be pretty formidable opponents and will be no pushovers. Count in a nuclear weapon or two, the dynamics change entirely. First of all, before we cry war let us get our facts straight and not succumb to rhetoric. The American intelligence, as past experience tells us, cannot be trusted entirely and confirming every significant bit of information may be required. Iran is currently guilty of allowing the terrorists to pass through its borders and their support to their cause is at best ideological. But there might be more to it.

Don’t tell me there is going to be another war after Bush gets reelected and all his talk of “Peace President” is hogwash. I am tired of organized violence.

I have been following this story for quite sometime. It began sometime last year when the Bush administration seemed to shift its gaze to Iran.
Reminds me of the opening sequence of the Ray film “shatranj ke Khiladi” where the British empire swallows up various Indian principalities.

The main objective of Bush and his band of jokers is to distract the attention of the public and quickly name a new enemy in order to cover up the mess they find themselves in vis-a-vis Iraq. Lets see where this drama takes us.
P.S on a different note…i am having trouble with a spammer on my blog…who seems to be enjoying leaving moronic comments everyday. I have tracked the IP number…which is not dynamic and happens to be the same everytime he/she visits. Is there any way I could block that IP number/user from accessing the blog? Sorry to bother you with this…

Where is your blog located? Does the host offer any IP banning facilities? If you are using Rediff, then it is very difficult but I hope someone more tech-savvy around here can help you better.

isnt it surprising that Bush hasnt said anything about Pakistan …but only about Iran where they were just ‘passing through’ Makes me cringe with disgust about his so-called policies
