Five Years of Blogging

Things have been a tad busy around here. So much so that I missed mentioning completing five years of my nerve endings firing away (hopefully they’ve been firing much long than that). Blogging has definitely been much slower and less passionate but like all things, this too will pass.

Upon popular…err…rather Shripriya’s demand, this was my first post five years ago. Nothing too great or insightful but merely recording mundane observations from around me when I wrote that little post. My blogging ‘style’ after five years hasn’t changed much either and I’m fine with that. Some brief statistics – 2532 posts (incl. 654 Asides), 14393 comments (excl. ones I lost when I moved from Rediff), 1.27 millon pageviews (since Oct.06 according to Mint), and tons of great friends.

Sqrlnt, True. Most of my asides unless they involve a really useful link end up in my Twitter. Regular-length blog posts just takes more time these days :)

And nope, not a Mac user but highly recommend it if you are buying a new one. My next one will definitely be a Mac. Don’t go for the Air hype. Get a MacBook (bump up the RAM to 2GB or more) or if feeling little more extravagant then MacBook Pro (entry-level)

Good job pal! I think I have been quietly following your blog, on and off, for most of those 4-5 years.
Most bloggers end up taking themselves too seriously and going overboard with the concept but you are one of the few level-headed bloggers remaining out there who has kept it simple and interesting, added to the fact that you are a talented writer.
    Keep it up!

Congrats on this significant milestone of 5 years!! I hope that you continue blogging for many more years, possibly we will see a Grandpa Patrix blogging about his grand- daughter:-) I like your no-pretense opinion and good write-up on all the issues you choose to write. Even your marriage commentary and Cruise vacation log were very captivating:-)

A bit late, nonetheless, great job with the perseverance. It’s been my fourth year actually, but my gypsy like attitude towards blogging has seen me switch blogging platforms and hosts like Hugh Hefner would with his playmates.
