Beijing fireworks digitally created

Remember that spectacular fireworks display depicting more than two dozen footprints through Beijiing leading to the Birds Nest Stadium during the Olympics opening ceremony? It turns out that it was digitally created. Sigh! I knew it was too good to be true.

And the nine-year-old kid who sang “I Sing for my Motherland” when the Chinese flag entered the stadium didn’t actually sing it. So why was she up there? Well, she was just cuter, said the Director.

I think next we’ll hear is that whatever we saw was just an illusion. As the chinese philosophers would say, there were no ceremony – it was all on the TV :D.

Supremus, talking about illusions, you might want to check out this story. Gives screensavers a new meaning. That makes me wary of anything China does to show off to the world.

I’m glad they were digitally created…! To me, it didn’t make any sense, what with China trying to clean up the city and reduce pollution!

Sampada, actually killjoys that we are, Ash and I wondered about the pollution the fireworks were causing. But then apart from those ‘footprint’ fireworks, the rest all were real.
