Kappi at Starbucks

Are things for Starbucks so bad that they are going the kaapi way? Next up, a Starbucks vending machine at the airport.

Our company cafeteria has a ‘subsidized’ Starbucks stall; they’re certainly looking to reach different sectors of the market. The original idea of ‘lounging at a cafe with a book/laptop’ is no longer as romantic as it used to be at Starbucks – many of us would prefer a more unique neighborhood cafe with a local feel for doing this these days, I’d say?

Starbucks started out with that image of latte-sipping coffee aficionados but the economic downturn has forced them to pander to the lower end of the consumers. McD Coffee is also giving them some tough competition. But I agree with your unique neighborhood cafe. I always prefer those compared to Starbucks; more for the ambiance and friendliness than for the coffee.
