McD Coffee is also giving them some tough competition. But I agree with your unique neighborhood cafe. I always prefer those compared to Starbucks; more for the ambiance and friendliness than for the coffee. The original idea of 'lounging at a cafe with a book/laptop' is no longer as romantic as it used to be at Starbucks - many of us would prefer a more unique neighborhood cafe with a local feel for doing this these days, I'd say?
