Obama’s American Flag

“On Inauguration Day, some critics were annoyed with Obama supporters who waved American flags with Mr. Obama’s image superimposed on them – a violation of U.S. Flag Code” [source; via]. Obama + American flag = violation of U.S. Flag Code but American flags as underwear is kosher? I’m surprised that a newspaper would even suggest such a thing in a country where burning your flag is considered part of your First Amendment rights.

Ah! My plea for comments worked :) Re: the article, I think the only reason for ultra-right Wash.Times to publish that article was to generate buzz from a non-issue. The Washington echo chamber is like Digg where stories get picked up from each other and discussed ad nauseam that the rest of the country couldn’t care less about.

That fizzled out when photos of Bush not wearing his jacket turned up on the Internets and even their God, Reagan was pictured once in a polo shirt in the Oval. Wonder how long it will take them to figure out that Bush had plenty of flags behind him to prove his patriotic intentions?
