I’ve been experiencing a strange problem on the blog lately. It cropped up during my theme change exercise. Often when I’m editing pages, the page will at random intervals display the “Loading” message on the Firefox tab and just not load up. Opening another tab doesn’t solve the problem. No other pages will load up. But if I open up another browser say, Safari then the pages open up just fine. So I continue editing in Safari and then the same problem occurs. By that time, Firefox seems to have settled down and the blog opens up there just fine. During a long editing session, I’ve to keep switching back and forth between browsers which as you guess is tedious.
What is causing the problem? Is it WordPress and any plugins (SuperCache?) The problem just started and I’m already using 12 fewer plugins after my theme change. Or is it my hosting provider who is slowing me down but then why would it work in another browser on the same IP? and why does it resolve after a relatively short time? Or is it a browser issue as I notice, WordPress logs me out more often than before. If I know whom to blame, it would be easier.
I don’t have a problem opening your site. I’ve opened it up on Firefox on the Mac and PC.
Since you have only 12 plugins I would suggest going with the classic approach of disabling plugins (most suspicious ones) one at a time and enabling them to identify the culprit.
9 months ago replyI’m sure anyone at the front end has any problem. Before disabling plugins, I want to be sure if it is indeed WordPress-related. I don’t have any new plugins save one. And even that one is a front-end one; why should it affect loading times on the backend?
9 months ago replyDisable javascript on your browser and try. If not clear the cache and try too!

9 months ago replyThanks. The problem doesn’t occur often but only when I’m on an editing spree so will give it a shot. I’ve tried clearing the cache though. No luck.
