Reasons to not get an iPad

Gina Trapani of the LifeHacker fame writes an article for Fast Company listing reasons why you should not buy an iPad. She has…two reasons. The first reason is true of any technology or gadget not just Apple. And the second reason is true of anything in life. I can understand people who belong to the first category but they may also be that type who haven’t yet bought a digital camera because the next one from Nikon might have X-ray vision. But people who belong to the second category and are ranting on the iPad are far more puzzling to understand since why would anyone be so mad at something that someone you don’t know is going to buy.

why would anyone be so mad at something that someone you don’t know is going to buy.

The explanation could lie at the manner in which Apple conducts business (which I have nothing against), and how cult-driven its customer-base are (which I have lots to say about).

Perhaps if Apple fanboyz did not consider the release of each product as the second coming and flood the intertubes thusly, there would be less of the madness.

Agree about the ocassional over-the-top worship but that still doesn’t convince me. Unless Apple products are a monopoly in their niche, people who aren’t Mac fans shouldn’t be bothered too much with what Mac fans obsess about.

….that sentence should read: “…there would be less of the madness all around.”

@Supremus: Good questions :) Dunno if I qualify yet as a fanboy but I’m fascinated and love to rile up the others.

You clearly haven’t been close to rabid fanbois. I’m avoiding Twitter and internet in general today.

I clearly buy products because I want to appear popular with my apple logo on the back of my gadgets. Wonder if it ever occurs that people will buy things because its ENTERTAINING. Or if they want to, I don’t get why people buy a dodge. Waste of money, but not going to hate on em.
