Confusion Galore (again!)

Ohio is termed as too close to call, although FOX, CNBC, and others with the exception of CNN have awarded Ohio and technically the Presidency to Bush. But now we are learning about the technicalities and legalities of obscure terms such as provisional ballots, voter challenges, etc. Planeloads of lawyers are flying to Ohio and the final decision may take at least 11 days.

Whoever thought a simple election in the world’s greatest proponent of democracy actually needs courts to settle it for them? Call me a quitter but give the damn thing to Bush and lets reconvene in 2008 to vote for Hillary. Lets hope a woman can do what all men failed to do…oust the Conservatives. In the meantime, they are painting the nation red by winning the majority in the Senate and reaffirming their hold on the House of Representatives.

I am off to sleep now. If anything changes, although I don’t expect it to, buzz me on my blog.

Yeah..even though indian and american news majors are not being affirmative, BBC is on its way with its headlines saying Bush is back. Provisional and other BS dont make a dent.

Have fun till 2008. You look as unimpressed as Bin.

Second election in this year where the predictions have gone wrong… What the hell happened to ‘high turnout in Florida favours Democrats’?

sorry, nothing has changed.. but seriously, americans deserve bush if they voted for him!! if bush can get elected twice, america is indeed the land of opportunities!!

I think Osama tilted it in favour of Bush. If i were in America and a terrorist in princely robes and prophetic tones admonished me to be prudent with my vote i would certainly vote for Bush. Bush despite his pick-pocket looks and clownishness has stood up against Saddam and Osama. and Kerry lacks charisma. he’s a man without conviction. uninspiring. he could never wage war.
probably tht’s why we are going to have bad boy Bush again.allow me to empathise patrix.every time i see Bush on TV I have this urge to beat him up(like i once did to my many foes in primary school) i can imagine wht u’d be feeling. but hillary Vs Bush would prove interesting. worth the wait.

It’s sad but like someone said earlier, if Bush was voted by the Americans they derseve him. But unfortunately, America being the power it is… this affects the rest of the world and I sure think we don’t deserve him. But Kerry as someone else pointed out is uninspiring… not that Bush is. But you know the average American :( so what can you expect?

I dont understand why everyone is giving up on the suspense! Apparently the lead is about 120,000 and the provisionals etc are around 250,000. But what if the 120,000 is in favour of Kerry?

Anyway, keep “suspending” yourselves for a little longer (only 11 days more!).

Smiley – I guess the headlines at BBC will not change and everyone is just holding out purely on technical grounds. But what a shame!

Aar – It turns out that the youth didn’t vote in large numbers as we expected afterall even though the ones that did favored Kerry. But we need more…lots more.

Manuscrypts – Guess the line should change to This happens only in America…if a country can vote for Bush twice, I seriously have my doubts about their intelligence (which was proven to be dubious too).

Ankita – The world is spinning and my vision is blurring…can’t see anything beyond a bright white light beckoning me to a land where justice and fairness still exists *gasping for breath in typical Bollywood style*…Don’t stop me, let me go. *dhantadantaa*…remember your lines are naheeeeeeee! after I go arrrrghhh..phussss.

Maya – Osu made an effect or not, we have four more years of Bush now..so Allah help these Americans. But I can understand your high school memories rising to the surface when you see Bush…I just have this strong feeling inside asking him to shut up everytime he opens his mouth.

Minds Eye – No one else deserves Bush more than Americans who voted for him not just once but twice. Ok! the first time was a sham but who will remember that after a hundred years.

Kiran – The provisional ballots will not erase the 120,000 lead that Bush has over Kerry (if you follow the trend). If they do, I will jump around in joy in Archimedial fashion…but 11 days is just too long to hear the obvious.

    Its awful isn’t it.

So that 80+ lady screaming ‘PRAISE THE LORD, I VOTED’ on TV was a Bush supporter! Any links to the voting patterns in that state? The final margin was huge instead of the tight race predicted by the polls.

    Ph – It sure is.

Aar – Exit polls have had their day..time for them to go.
