Yahoo is John Kerry

Yahoo literally pulled off a John Kerry on Friday. John Kerry kissed his chances of becoming the President when he uttered his oft-quoted "I voted for the war in Iraq before I voted against it". He would be called a flip-flop and ridiculed on late-night TV shows until he faded into obscurity.

Yahoo announced that they were going to fully support FireFox. It was just the news that the open source movement would love to hear. A mega web company customizing its features for a fledging browser; it had released a search toolbar for Firefox until the users had to switch back to IE to use the full features. In short, the experiment to bring open source into the mainstream commercial web failed. So it was surprising to all geek fans when Yahoo endorsed Firefox in spite of its proximity to its arch-rival, Google. But the dream wasn’t to last long when Yahoo retracted its original statement and said, it can’t promise that its services would be fully compatible with Firefox although they say that "open source browser is important". But at least, they are open to exploring ties in the future.
