Bloglines Zindabad

If you are wondering why I’ve been so prolific on my blog last week (19 posts!!!), I have one word for you – Bloglines. It is indeed a wonder why I stayed away from Bloglines – an online and efficient RSS reader – for so long. I have listed my regular reads including all the blogs on my Bloglines page (108 at the last count and no, I don’t check all of them everyday coz that’s the whole idea of Bloglines). You can access them at:

The above link is placed permanently located on the lower left side of my blog (Anwesha, I hope now you can keep a track on my "blog caravan").  Now why would using Bloglines make me post more frequently? After reading the constantly updating feeds, I spot  an interesting article or two, I just cannot resist writing about it instantly – even when I am at work (somebody stop me!). The obsessive and finicky person that I am, I have neatly categorized my feeds into six categories; Indian Topical blogs, Personal Blogs, Technology and Culture, General News, American Daily feeds, and Daily Photologs.

Feel free to drop in your suggestions.

I concur! Life has been easy since a few months with Bloglines .. the only way I can keep up with blogs from an Indian broadband connection :) …gotta love it ..spread the word

I used it for more than 6 months and I liked it. Now, I use Sage. It is a RSS aggregator plugin within Firefox. It works as well as Bloglines. The only problem is it is local and can’t be accessed over internet from anywhere if you are away from your own machine.

That is how I have been following your blog all this time…I have 206 feeds…bloody hell, I haven’t read some of them like Dilbert,Calvin and Mozallazine in a few weeks…would you dare to check out my feed list ??

Elaichi Chai – With infrequent blog updates, bloglines is the best way to keep in touch without wasting too much time.

Parag – I would have opted for Sage since I carry my laptop everywhere but I didn’t want to go through importing all my feeds if I don’t.

Bryan – I would love to take a look at your feed list. Care to share the link?

Blogline rocks. Unlike the desktop based readers (requires program installation), it is fast, trouble free, easily accessible and manageable.

I even got a RSS feed of my haloscan comments, so that I can read recent comments on a post from my archives.

I’ve found myself following more blogs since I discovered Bloglines. But it’s a wonder how you manage to read all those blogs and still post with alacrity.

err.. using bloglines for reading blogs.. isn’t it something most blog readers “start” with?! aapke jaise shaatir khilaadi ne abhee discover kiya.. tch tch.. :p :)

BTW how do u comment now? or do u comment..?
this RSS thing means that now i’ll not be able to make out when you are reading my blog :p :-)

Rezwan – Its the ease of adding new feeds and categorization that won me over.

Leela – You are right. I had almost stopped adding new blogs although I knew there were many good ones out there. But now I don’t hesistate from adding more.

Twilight Fairy – Actually I had started out with bloglines in its earlier days but didn’t use it as much until recently. Commenting definitely has suffered but if I read something really good, I do make it a point to comment.

I’ve been reading your blog since quite some time … and have made some use of your opml file via bloglines. Is that okay for you?

    Sarpanch – No probs.
