Not that topic again

I had wondered sometime back on the reason for lack of female political bloggers before the issue was blown out of proportion by Kevin Drum. He was instantly bombarded by sexist accusations and had to eventually host few women bloggers to guest-post on his blog.

Recently a commenter, Kim from his blog found her way to my little blog and left the following comment:

"[some things] women intrinsically enjoy more than men and vice versa e.g. fashion, shopping, personal thought-sharing, etc."

No I don’t. Nor do a lot of women I know.

If you will, here are some interesting blogs, written by ladies who have a passing interest in politics:

Mousewords

Pandagon

Feministing

Echidne

Pinko feminist hellcat

Trish Wilson

XX (a group blog)

Rox
Feministe

Utopian Hell

This Girl

Green Fairy

Media Girl

Brutal Women

Stone Court
and

Alas, a bog, although written by a man, most commentators are women (isn’t that somewhat like my blog?).

Hope that helps.

Pen Elayne has done some exhausting work in listing the female "political" bloggers on the net. OK, I take my words back. I am not complaining. At least I got a few blog suggestions in the process.

I can’t believe this topic still needs discussed, but hell, we’ll keep discussing it until it is no longer necessary.

Ophelia – I guess the issue refuses to die down…have you checked out the ruckus on Huffington’s blog?

Have you read The Opt-Out Revolution by Lisa Belkin, appeared in the New York Times Magazine (it is still there somewhere on the Wb). Refer them that. Please. . .

Shirazi – Nope. I’ll try to ‘get my eyes’ on it soon.
