‘Home’ Bound in December

Amit Varma wrote on the joys (at least, one of the many) of blogging few days back. I cannot help but agree and I have cashed in on the joys he talks about several times during my blogging stint. I have met Diya (Speed), Alpha, Yogustus, Star, Queer, Spaceman, Selva & Ramya, and Semantic Overload from the blogosphere (unfortunately, not all are active bloggers anymore; and I hope I haven’t forgotten anyone) and have found these meetings, however brief they may be, extremely enjoyable. Although I have interacted (via email and chat) with plenty more bloggers, I haven’t had the opportunity to meet them mostly due to distance limitations.

Now in the next month, I hope to make a significant addition to that list. I am coming down to India next month!!! I’ll in Mumbai for almost a month, I will be spending most of my time with family and couple of friends, and plan to keep away from the hordes of relatives (I wish I can pull that off). That definitely would leave me enough time for blogger meets. So if you have been reading my blog for a while, live in the Mumbai-Navi Mumbai area, *and* wish to meet up, let me know. I rather have small blogger meets instead of a blogger convention that most meets turn out to be. I get lost in large groups and you might not enjoy meeting the ‘real’ me. Now, I live in Panvel and considering that my parents will probably forbid me from driving, I might have some problems getting around. But Panvel is well-connected by local trains so any places close to the Harbor line would be great.

I’ll be stopping over in Bahrain on the way to Mumbai for a ‘meet-the-parents’ rituals with Ash’s family. I might have some (god forbid!) interesting stories a la Gaylord Focker style, in case you are wondering what we might talk about. Who knows, I just might hear from Bahraini bloggers (anyone out there?) Ash will also be coming to Mumbai for a week in January; so a second round of blogger meets also can be arranged.

I’ll also be collecting donations for DesiPundit. Nah! I’m just kidding :) Drop me a line at patrixblogs [at] gmail [dot] com if you want to meet up. I hope I can meet all of you and if I cannot due to last-minute family commitments (you know how it is, right?), I apologize right now.

PS. Also, I am visiting Chicago in Thanksgiving. Anyone out there? Someone is conveniently travelling to India at the same time. Grrrr!
