BlogNashville was a free, three-day set of educational and informational sessions on blogging. The main things that attracted my attention was first, it was free, second, it had a wide assortment of panel headed by pundit bloggers like Glenn Reynolds (Instapundit), Dan Gillmor (Grassroots Journalism), Dave Winer (Scripting News), and Henry Copeland (BlogAds), and third, Nashville was just four hours drive away and Ash agreed to accompany me after rolling her eyes and laughing at me for being a pathetic addictive blogger [Yahoo News link]. I however attended only one and a half day of the conference…rather one and a quarter i.e. the main day (still kicking myself for the missed quarter though; I’ll explain that below).
Ash and I are compulsive planners; be it the question of our life or just a simple weekend trip. After printing out detailed directions and looking up things that we could sight-see in and enroute Nashville, we actually looked forward to the trip although it entailed getting up early in the morning and driving for almost four hours if I had to catch the first session at 1pm. In spite of sleeping late rather our regular time of 1:30-2am, I managed to get up on time and drive off on time. I was hoping my rickety old Toyota Tercel would hold up for the trip. We stopped at Waffle House to grab some quick breakfast and coffee, and then stopped only when we got to Nashville. I was almost ready to sleep at the wheel but thankfully Ash’s nervous chatter kept me awake. We made it just in time at 1pm, screeching into the Belmont University campus.
I am hoping to write short posts on the sessions I am attending including a terrible goof up. I will post them sometime today including some pictures.

Charu - It certainly was an intersting experience…as they say, something different.
Ramana - Of course! you wouldn’t want a sleepy head like me at the wheel short on sleep.
