“The coasters were printed using a special invisible red ink, which spreads only when moistened. The Mumbai Traffic Police placed at tables and bar counters in Mumbai’s prominent bars. When a customer places their moist glass of alcohol on it, the red ink starts spreading and the face starts to bleed.”
Subtle but probably effective than any government diktat. Makes full use of ‘emotional blackmail’ tactic that is so effectively used by all Indian parents (and children.)

Ah, this is brilliant. Brilliant marketing. Should be adopted worldwide.

If the said traffic police were busy on these jobs, who were patrolling on their behalf?
I wonder how that RED color is visible, since there’s already an easygoing darkness in there.
Nevertheless, it could’ve been a good idea, if the preachers themselves don’t sit for a sip or two.

Bongo, yup! Creepy is the word. The guy having a drink will be wondering if he is seeing things :)
Shripriya, creepy but probably effective (if ppl look at them).
Indi Problogger, you are right about the bars being dark and also wonder if anyone looks at their coasters.

Somewhat similar for cigarettes and perhaps arguably more effective: Picture of babies on cigarette packs !

Bongo, dunno why I didn’t respond to that earlier. But that image looks scary. I can understand the emotional blackmail smokers are going thru :)
