Super Bowl XLI Ads - The Budweiser Collection

Does beer make you smart? Heck, it does. It made Bud weiser. Budweiser traditionally has the best of the crop of Super Bowl Ads. This year was no different. They usually have a mix of humor and ’senti’ ads. This year, one ad even featured an accent training seminar filled with desis, Chinese, and East [...]

Big Things Come in Little Packages

If the music is vaguely familar, then you have played Tetris. Why wait for the Superbowl for great ads when you have YouTube?

Kleenex Away

One of the best ads ever. Reminds me of Cadbury’s Kuch Baat Hai except this theme has a closer relationship with the product [via StyleStation]:

Hillary Clinton buys BlogAds

Hillary Clinton is expanding on her online campaign by actively using BlogAds for advertising. “She’s the first to buy some hi-rise units (150X600 plus 300 characters of text)”, says Henry Copeland [via].

BlogAds is an advertising network targeted toward highly trafficked blogs mostly political blogs that lets them choose ads according to their ideology. [...]

Getting Paid for Blogging

Blogging has moved past the regular Adsense and Yahoo Publisher revenue which offered at best cents to the average blogger. Highly-ranked trafficked blogs earned more [a lot more] but then these are a handful and it is tough to break into that club unless you blog full-time. I would be lying if I said I [...]

Apple iProduct

Click on the image for a clearer view [Source]. I wonder if iPatrix is often confused as an Apple product. Trust me, it is not.

German Blank Noise

Translated as:
Careful! Women answer back
If you stupidly stare at a woman, talk rubbish or touch her, you have to be aware that she might insult you loudly, a glass of beer is emptied over you or you might be hit in the face. We strongly advise you to refrain from this kind of [...]

Banning ‘Girls Gone Wild’ ads

Think India has more than its share of moral policing? Heck, even the pro-business free-speech-loving U.S. has its share of loonies.

Superbowl Proposal

A dude is planning on proposing to his girlfriend by buying an ad spot during the upcoming NFL Superbowl. He is trying to raise $2.5 million to buy that commercial spot. Girls, maha-impressive or a colossal waste of money? And she better not say no.

Black Friday Online?

Not that I am looking to making my wallet lighter over the next few days but can anyone tell me if there is an online version of Black Friday? I mean are online retailers like Amazon, Buy, or eBay offering deep discounts that last only for a day (or few hours)? Will these sales begin [...]

Feedvertising

Text Link Ads has now expanded into free ‘Feedvertising’ technology to run text link ads in your RSS feeds. It is open only to WordPress 2.0+ users but they promise to add more blogging platforms soon. I have to add that I have earned more money through Text Link Ads than I ever did with [...]

Lalu at IIM-A

The management institutes are trying to stay current and have been inviting an eclectic set of personalities to their campuses. After inviting the Mumbai dabbawallahs, IIM-A has done what would have been considered prepostorous a few years back by inviting Lalu Prasad Yadav for a guest lecture. The topic of his lecture will not be [...]

Microsoft ContentAds: Adsense Competitor

Techcrunch discovers that Microsoft has launched its contextual advertising platform, ContentAds. Currently only invitation-based [Jennifer Slegg has an invite], this move now throws the field of online advertising wide open. Yahoo! Publisher Network (on this site) has sadly not innovated much in the past year causing Google’s Adsense to wallop its ass badly.
But on the [...]

The effect of “rigorous” fellatio on the larynx

[via] “whether acts of “rigorous” fellatio may contribute to a pathology of the larynx”. In non-scientific language, does a good blowjob cause galle mein khich-khich? Won’t that make an awesome Stepsils ad? I can imagine guys lining up outside the lab office to enlist and duly vanishing after being slotted in the ‘larynx test group’.
Why [...]

The Best Damn Ad Blocking Fix

Online adversiting has increased manifold and has created scores of content creators who otherwise would have no incentive to do so. Amit Agarwal is one of the bloggers who manages to make a living blogging by relying solely on Adsense. Admittedly Google and other text ads are not a nuisance but there are scores of [...]

Kick the Ball…Owwww!

Police in Berlin said on Wednesday they had arrested two men on suspicion of placing cement-filled soccer balls around the city and inviting people to kick them [source].
However funny that might seem, I really feel sorry for the poor victim who fell for the trick. But in a city counting down to the climax of [...]

World Cup Official Song Melody

Last time I was enthusiastic about a World Cup song was in 1998 when Ricky Martin’s La Copa de la Vida was chosen as the official song. Yeah, I know I said Ricky Martin but you have to admit the song had a great rhythm (remember Allez! Ola! Ole!) and certainly suited the sport. Splashed [...]
