The textbook industry is the biggest scam in the United States with astronomical prices for age-old basic knowledge. I want to believe

Under the large shadow of The Dark Knight, another movie inspired from one of my favorite TV shows of all time releases today. Strangely as the TV series ran through the early 90s, the supporting character gained a more popular following than the protagonist. Never mind, you kids wouldn’t remember.

The Dark Knight voted best movie ever (at IMDB)

The Dark Knight has been roundly appreciated by critics and audiences. I loved the movie too and given Heath Ledger’s amazing swan song performance probably overshadowed everyone else’s. The movie has zoomed to the top of the IMDB’s Top 250 movies with a rating of 9.5 disrupting The Godfather’s long reign. The Dark Knight is [...]

The Iraq/Pakistan Border

What is the best way to avoid threats from Iran? Pretend it doesn’t exist. Just like McCain does when he talks about the Iraq/Pakistan border. Or is he just having another Miss Teen North Carolina moment? This from a guy who claims oodles of foreign policy experience as reason enough to vote for him. FSM [...]

Write with Style

Kurt Vonnegut offers tips to write with style. Luckily for us Indians, point#5 is in our favor but again that’s no excuse to insert Hinglish phrases in every sentence. Understand, no?

Much Ado Over Crackers

Cracker Pots! And you thought only Islam holds the torch for religious fundamentalism and intimidation of those who refuse to believe in their bullshit.

One of the most compelling ad I’ve seen in a while - Save Trees. Trees save.

No More Mao

China has dropped the image of Chairman Mao Zedong from its new currency possibly signaling an end of Communist economic policies; political freedom still remains a dream though.

Homo Sapiens

If the aliens landed and wanted to see some typical homo sapiens, I’m afraid they are going to be disappointed because we seem to have a whole lot of variety. Amazing portraits.

ThirdPath Parenting

ThirdPath parenting. My wife insisted that I read this (emailed it to me, starred it in my Gmail, and asked me every night if I had read it which I finally did today) so I feel compelled to pay it forward. I insist you read it too; especially so if you are married.

Barack Obama - a Hindu?

Now that Obama has left the Trinity Church and is ‘in the market’ for a new worshiping place, Stephen Colbert recommends not a new church but a new religion - Hinduism.

Revive the Old Bar in Firefox 3.0

Use the old bar add-on in Firefox 3.0 if you don’t like the cluttered results you get as you begin typing in the address bar. It still searches for the words you begin typing in both the URL and the page title but displays them in one line as in the previous version of Firefox.

Hindu Explosions?

How can anyone remotely support Balu T and his wacko ideology after sprouting such nonsense? I agree with Gaurav that if the Thackeray family is the first to volunteer, I’m all for it. We can stop once we run through all the Thackerays. Thankfully, the RSS (not the feeds, re) opposes any such nonsensical talk.

Barack Obama’s Campaign Email

A simple passive website won’t do. A template of an email that the Obama campaign should seriously consider sending out to counter the Republican smear machine.

Comcast’s 10 million Pixel Video Wall

This 10 million pixel video wall at the new Comcast Center in Philadelphia is mindblowing. I’m sure the experience in real life must be overwhelming. Don’t miss the embedded videos especially the second one.

Bumper Stickers and Road Rage?

Apparently, the owners of this car or this one are prone to higher incidences of road rage according to this research. So stay away from those cars toting the stickers especially the ‘Spread World Peace’ ones like I stay from that car in College Station that literally covered from top to bottom with Star of [...]

Olympics 2016 Logos

With the Beijing Olympics nearing, the race for the 2016 edition is just warming up. The finalist cities of Chicago, Madrid, Rio de Janeiro, and Tokyo all have interesting logos or at least much better than horrible London 2012 logo which is even worse than the logos of other applicant cities like Doha and Prague.
