Dasavatharam Review Reactions

M Night Shyamalan, the Padma-something awardee’s upcoming movie, The Happening has been kept away from critics and movie reviewers and he is avoiding the press too. The film’s PR team is purportedly doing this to “preserve the mystery”. So what do critics do? Dissect the movie trailers, of course.

Interesting article in Newsweek on how Ronnie Screwvala (UTV) is bringing Bollywood out from the shadows of those sappy Yash Chopra romantic comedies. As Prem notices, the commenters from Rediff seem to have migrated to Newsweek as soon as they saw an India-related article. Are we really that petty? Sheesh.

Wachowskis’ Speed Racer Stills

Wachowskis’ (of the Matrix trilogy fame) upcoming movie, Speed Racer have its first stills out. As Kottke points out, Susan Sarandon’s claims that this movie required development of new technology and visual effects never seen before in Hollywood might in fact be true. And that’s saying something.
