God to Jeb Bush, Governor of Florida – Can you hear me now?
Commercials you are not likely to see – The only thing money can’t buy is poverty, for everything else you have MasterCard.
Politicians are like diapers; they should be changed often…for the same reasons.

Ever notice how easy it is to dish out advice on handling adversity when you are not experiencing it yourself? I understand how you feel – is the most abused consolation because clearly they don’t.

Did you notice that the latest iMac G5 from Apple was available for $110 for couple of hours at Amazon on Tuesday?
Amazon was quick to rectify that glitch but couple of my roomies quickly ordered two of them in that brief window. Now, they hoped that Amazon will reward them for being alert. Rumor has it that Delta was forced to honor its commitment after an hour-long glitch in their website offered India tickets for $70. Few desis were alert enough to grab half a dozen tickets in that period. Alas, it wasn’t to be. Their order got cancelled in an apologetic email. Too bad!
Terrorists love proclaiming that they have a cause they are willing to die and kill for. Will someone tell them that it makes more sense to have a cause they would rather live for?

One of the best protest signs I have seen during the Republican Convention. I bet a techie was holding that up.
I finally figured out the way to uninstall Oracle from my burdened laptop. Stupid me, I missed the obvious. Now I have enough disk space to swim around.
Yay! A Super-Target is opening soon right down the road from my apartment complex. Should I sell my car now? After paying through my nose for some “urgent” repairs, I guess not.
More proof that Hrithik is gay. All you female fans – eat your heart out :)

Stamps.com has launched Photo.Stamps.com where you can upload your own images and print real stamps. Being on a postage stamp is no longer considered prestigious? Damn.
The Olympics are here at last. Yay! Check out Scott’s blog as he enjoys being in Phelps’ shadow at Athens; an insider look at being at the Olympics.

How does the Cosmopolitan always have some Sex advice article screaming on its cover, month after month? Aren’t they telling everything or aren’t people simply reading more carefully?
Have you finally formed your own identity when your dad is introduced as your father instead of you being introduced as his son?
“I want to strengthen our alliances and seek partnerships to fight the war on terror” – John Kerry.
“I will not surrender the decision of America’s national defense to other countries” – George Bush.
Both lines draw an equally enthusiastic response. No wonder the voter is confused. It reminds me of P.L Deshpande’s hilarious lines “mala saglanchich maate pattat” (I agree with everyone’s opinions).

Have you seen the number of pillows of any bed advertised in a furnishing catalog? I never have understood the need to pile on gazillion cushions which only make the bed look smaller and in a normal home, no one does so either. Anyone aware of the reason for such weird gimmicks?
The educational process at MIT is often described as “trying to drink from a hose”. A case of information overload or an endless source of knowledge? I prefer to believe the latter.
When faced with a dilemma, the question that we must ask ourselves is not “why” but rather “why not?” This might solve all moral and pragmatic problems too.

About dishing out advice…I don’t agree with your statement. What would you rather have the person do? Go through that experience to justify his comment? I mean, what’s the alternative to saying that? I feel some form of consolations are better than no consolations or brutally brunt ones …no matter how repeatedly used.

Yogu - Nope, I don’t agree. Consoling may not always work. Sometimes ppl just say things which they never mean..its better not hearing those things, I feel.
