Dinesh D’Souza, author of a new book blaming 9/11 on the cultural values of American liberals, which offended Osama bin Laden, causing him to kill everybody.  So, D’Souza goes on the Colbert Report and specifically blames, of course, Bill Clinton.  And Colbert mocks him by asking, ‘doesn’t some of it lay at FDR’s doorstep?’  And D’Souza doesn’t realize Colbert’s joking.  Indirectly yes, he answers [source]

Sigh! If you read his interview on Salon, the seemingly intelligent dude comes off as a bumbling demagogue who relies on his deep-seated ideological beliefs instead of facts. But that is nothing new for the far-right.

    …seemingly intelligent…

I disagree with even the above characterization of this idiot. He is just rung lower/higher (depending on how you see it) than Michelle Malkin or Ann Coulter. I don’t know how these people get so messed up. Their childhood?

  2. Patrix Says:

Oi, I meant intelligent in a traditional sense. A graduate of Dartmouth and now works for Stanford. I agree that he is a idiot.

  3. gawker Says:

I agree with oi. He didn’t seem that intelligent to me, Dartmouth or no Dartmouth. All he came across was like a political hack saying the most far-fetched things in order to sell his trashy book. And when Colbert got him to admit that he believed that the terrorists were right about certain things, that was pure ecstasy.

  4. Patrix Says:

gawker, probably ‘intelligent’ wasn’t the right word. What would you call a narrow-minded or bigoted individual who has had the necessary formal education yet has not made a difference?

  5. Santosh Says:

Seems to be a problem with neo-cons. Intelligent folks who are blinded by their hatred for anything not confirming to their POV. Glenn Beck who seems like a practical and thoughtful guy on TV but you should hear him on radio. Liberal this, liberal that. Everything gets blamed on liberals. What about the personal responsiblity that conservatives preach all the time?

  6. Patrix Says:

Santosh, so I guess education doesn’t always work, eh?

    @ Patrix

Have a look at this buffoon on the Colbert Report- Colbert actually got him to say that FDR also had a part to play in 9/11 in addition to Clinton, Reagan and Carter. Absolutely awesome!
