Don’t wish for my life

If you're new here, you may want to subscribe to my RSS feed or email alerts. Thanks for visiting!

It has been a while since I had a day to myself without having to think about impending tasks. Due to certain freakish coincidence of nature, I was left with nothing urgent to do and the action on tasks at hand is beyond my control right now. Naturally, I am feeling upbeat and strangely not restless which I usually do. The weather outside, a pleasant 56 F did contribute significantly to the mood and sun was out after couple of days of lousy weather. Naturally I couldn’t resist stepping out and enjoying the warm climate and dumping my bulky jacket for a change. I cannot begin to explain the lazy pleasures of sipping a coffee, reading couple of books and a crisp newspaper out in the sun. Definitely an hour outside is worth eight inside. The books, of course do deserve a review some time later this week.

I know that the curses of those cooped up in musty offices will not let me enjoy my solitude for long. Even humdrum tasks such as vacuuming your home after you are done with the long overdue task of rearranging your desk gives you a sense of accomplishment. Boy, I know my life must seem so hopelessly downtrodden that the highlight of my day is vacuuming my home. Or maybe it explains why I am still a part of a dying breed called bloggers. I just hope I get access to the elusive I: drive on our university network as soon as possible to begin my work and to prevent me from going crazy.
