Enforce the Law - yeah right!

Watching Lou Dobbs is the second-worst thing on television; first being of course Bill O’Reilly. The disparaging tone in which they address immigrants and accuse them of bring in dreaded diseases like leprosy (totally false) is indeed despicable. So much for the liberal media, eh?

However, just before switching to Nightly News I caught two items that left me shaking my head. Ominously headlined - Enforce the Law, the report spiced with crackpot analysis provided by Duncan Hunter thundered on how the Homeland Security had bungled on not staying on schedule regarding the fence building. Enforce the law - is what they kept reporting citing numerous laws that are already in place to check for illegal immigration.

Without batting an eyelid, they switched to the next story of two border enforcement officers who were convicted by a jury of their peers for illegally shooting and killing a drug peddler. Now, the loony right was clamoring for a pardon for these two officers. What? Forgotten your earlier slogan about enforcing the law? Come on, it is not even five minutes old.

But then news trickles in that their holy leader, Dubya has ‘pardoned’ Scooter Libby and commuted his jail sentence. Tsk tsk…for all the clamor on enforcing the law and respecting the judicial branch, the loony right doesn’t really walk the talk.

I think the NYT editorial got it right. Bush is afraid that Scooter will tell all the secrets in the prison.

    Hey Patrix,
I can’t get myself to watch news anymore. I watch the daily show and colbert report and it is getting harder by the day to laugh at the “daily roast”…the day they ban shows like the daily show I am leaving this country.

Confused, it is simply a case of taking care of your people. And it helps to have one of the guys as a President who can issue random pardons.

Crystal, the Daily Show and Colbert Report folks don’t even have to work that hard. These buggers almost write the show for them.
