Holy shit! It’s freaking cold today. I was cribbing earlier this week that it is almost December and I haven’t really dusted out my winter jacket (even though its Texas). Of course, we were warned that a cold front is headed our way but this was beyond what I expected.
Believe it or not, yesterday it was 80 deg(F) and right now in the middle of the day, it is 34 deg (F) but with the howling wind it feels like 23 deg (F). That is a drop of nearly 60 degrees in less than 24 hours. I expect a gradual change in the weather when the summer petters out with the coming of crisp autumn air and the world slowly freezes up as Christmas approaches. No such luck these day as weather changes are getting increasingly abrupt.

Ashwin, I had expected a response from one of the ‘Northerns’ scoffing at the temperature. My sympathies are with you. 34F may sound great but not after you were at 80F the previous night.

I have scoffed over at Ash’s blog, but given some advice too. might want to go read it :)

True :). I understood that the focus of your post was the drastic change in temperatures, however after spending 1 hour on a 10 minute commute, i had to vent my frustration and your comment box was the first opportunity I came across.

Confused, I guessed as much. But you Floridians aren’t expected to comment on weather except when a hurricane passes through.
Sqrl, I did but as I said, you New Englanders love to rub that in our face. Anyway, a drop from 60 to 40 is nothing compared to 80 to 23, right?
Ashwin, my poor blog is always open for frustration-riddled rants

well, you can rub the heat in our faces… the cold has completely wimpized me towards the heat. I was in Austin in the summer some years back and can u believe it, I fainted and threw up and generally fell sick!
tch tch..and I call myself a Mumbai native..

Sqrl, sheeeesh! you bring shame to Mumbaikars. If you fainted in Austin summer heat, you would boil in College Station or Houston in August.
