One such sign is ‘Observe Warning Signs - State Law’. Firstly, why would someone observe this sign and not the other warning signs? Does making it a law help in enforcement and how would you make sure people have observed the signs? I think, this sign finds its roots in the seemingly libertarian attitude of Texans. The lawmakers posted a bunch of warning signs that merely serve as suggestions according to drivers. But you can’t make every warning sign a law, right? That would be too much policing so one lawmaker comes up with this brainwave - lets make one sign that makes it a punishable offense to ignore other warning signs. Ah! so when you actually don’t heed a warning sign, you are not breaking the law that the sign asks you not to but in fact, you are just guilty of ignoring that warning sign.
