Ash and I met Queer yesterday. She was on her way back to San Diego and had a brief stopover in Atlanta. She has a queer eye for the straight guy but not exactly in the way it sounds. Poor Queer was ignorant of American slang before she assumed a pseudonym on the blogosphere. It is going to hound her for the rest of her blogosphoric life. We nearly missed each other at the airport. First, the MARTA (public transit train in Atlanta) sputtered its way to the airport, which just added to my bladder woes. Thankfully, Queer didn’t call out for me as she saw me tearing across the atrium on the way to the restroom.
Ash spotted her first and we settled down to chat for a while. First of all, by her own admission, she loves to talk…and boy, did we talk. We talked about everything from our love for roller coasters, American cities, missing India, and of course, blogs. She still hates spending $21 million for the Central Park Gates and I tried to convince her otherwise. I wriggled out an invitation to visit San Diego and Queer, you better be warned I might land up earlier than you think (of course, she too is welcome to spend time in Atlanta any time she decides to venture beyond the terminal).
Queer was only the fifth blogger I have met and not once, has it been uncomfortable. What are we waiting for, Spaceman? After all we live in the same city.

lol at fairy’s comment. I have met mm..8, really wonderful people, I really wanted to meet.

Pleo - Huh?
Twilight Fairy - New look always keeps everyone guessing and no one really needed to know the other things anyways. Mass bloggers meet! something I’ll be utterly uncomfortable with.
Alpha - 8 wonderful people? Counting me, I hope :)

um…Good question!! Let’s meet up. Will mail you :)

yeah you be included. Suddenly the urge to be nice to you is overwhelming, don’t know why. Hey, can you redo my blog and make it cool?
February 28th, 2005 at 12:44 pm reply
Spaceman - Cool. Will await your email.
Alpha - the urge to be nice to you is overwhelming - I hope that has to do something with redoing your blog; nothing else :) BTW why tamper with CSS and HTML when Blogspot and Typepad offers great looking blog sites. Blogspot is free. Try one of their templates.

February 28th, 2005 at 2:37 pm reply
Whoa so some blog spaces are not free??? We need a blogspot where you can stick in more emoticons though…that’s sorely missed…Maybe there are some out there…I will now stop advertising my ignorance.. (else Alpha will start educating me again!)
Nice talkings patrix..
I have to agree with Queer on the Gates though

gratis, so cute..’we need a blogspot’ hahaha! you can get those cheap smilies even in ‘blogdrive’ my host. I hate them. So gay!
patrix, you are not gay. What about my blog site? You cant get away with just suggestions! Spaceman and Star have volunteered to help me, but I thought I’ll give you the first preference. I won’t pay a penny to blog.
February 28th, 2005 at 5:50 pm reply
Anwesha - Too much unnecessary clutter..did anyone really care what blogs I read? plus, my blog caravan was hopelessly outdated.
GratisGab - Welcome to a “paid” blog. Nothing is free but then it is paid for by Google Adsense. Regards Gates, now I know which category to slot you in.
Alpha - Ailaa! itna demand for redesigning Alpha’s blog? Can I add that to my resume? I guess Spaceman and Star might be more helpful, if you need to dabble in CSS and HTML. I can open a Blogger account for you, if that is what you want…now if only I could convince you to pay for Typepad.

Alphs, i vouch for Spaceman, if you need any vouching, that is. But hang on, he still has to fix one section of my blog. (Spacie, if you’re reading this… :-D )
March 1st, 2005 at 7:33 am reply
pssst Lee, unlike the mad rush to redo your blog, no one volunteered to do mine..not even Star. I just rattled off names to get Patrix sweating. It kinda worked. (Spacie, if you’re reading this…:-(
March 1st, 2005 at 9:04 am reply
Anwesha - I had already changed my reading list long time back but can send you the links if you want.
Leela - Nope. Dinn need any “vouching” but just wondered why we hadn’t met up yet.But we are meeting up this weekend.
Alpha - Lying to get me working??? not fair.
March 1st, 2005 at 9:40 am reply
Patrix, I was actually vouching about Spacie’s programming abilities to Alpha. But while I’m vouching, I think I’ll go ahead and vouch for Spacie as well. Oh, one thing, just don’t let him take you for any movies!
(Spacie, are you even reading this???)
March 1st, 2005 at 9:55 am reply
Leela - LOL! True..my bad but since I put you on the spot, you had to do the “vouching”, I guess.
March 1st, 2005 at 11:22 am reply
I was glad too that we could meet! I forgot to mention when we talked..for some reason I knew you would be wearing glasses! And know what you are the fifth blogger in my list too!
March 1st, 2005 at 12:33 pm reply
Queer - It was fun meeting you too. Expected glasses? Coz I sound like a nerd?
March 2nd, 2005 at 8:22 am reply
Whoa! Never knew I could be a topic for conversation! Lee, you are blaming me for that movie??! I don’t think I was the one crazy about watching an Ash movie :D Patrix, I trust your movie sense, albeit you are also crazy about a certain Ash ;) Alphs, so long as you are ready with the big bucks, I can redo anything, blog template being the least of it all :)
And while we are in the meeting mode, Hey Queer! Don’t believe we have met before, but your choice of name always intrigued me. Now I know. Have a great time in San Diego
March 2nd, 2005 at 5:26 pm reply
err….what do you mean “sound LIKE a nerd”?:P (just kidding)
Hey Spaceman, it is a result of many of my friends calling me weird…and crazy. But seriously I am only queer by name:) (just to set the record straight).
March 2nd, 2005 at 7:39 pm reply
Spaceman - I would go in for the serious movies but don’t expect me to take you to a movie..that would be too gay! But lemme get off my lazy ass and give you a call first..shit!this week is busier than I thought.
Queer - A nerd is definitely a better label than queer :)
March 7th, 2005 at 12:50 am reply
Queer knows what I mean when I talk about history.
