After being clearly guilty of sexism toward Hillary Clinton, Chris Matthews is placed on racism watch given some of his statements against Obama. Matthews, IMO, is caught in a time warp from the 60s and 70s and often seems at a loss to comment on latest political trends.

Matthews is a jerk, plain and simple. The only reason he makes these controversial remarks is because that’s the only way people will tune in to his show. He’s no different than Bill O’Reilly IMO.

He’s too much in love with his own ’s voice. I suppose he is focusing so hard on out-talking everyone else in the show, he forgets to focus on what he is actually saying ;)

Santosh, I agree but in Matthews case, it seems insincere.
Lekhni, unfortunately most TV anchors today are not moderators and simply use their ‘hour’ to pontificate on their opinions leaving guests to simply agree or disagree with them. They do not facilitate conversations which typically such anchors are expected to.
