“Hey, look we got more bills in our mail today. Yay!”

“Why are you so happy about bills in the mail?”

“You know I get to use our new shredder, right?”

“Oh! Anything makes you happy”

Whirrrrr! Shrrrrreeeeeed!

“Hehehe…take that, Citibank. Here’s what I think of your 0% APR offers, Providian.”

“You know that you still have to pay those bills, right”

Pause. Blink. Blink. “Yeah, Yeah, of course! What do you think I am, stupid?”

“Well, you didn’t know who killed Drona

“Ok! That’s it. Your birthday cards gets the shredder treatment”

“Yeah! Whatever. You wouldn’t want to starve tonight.”

Pause. Blink. Blink. “@#$&#” Whirrrrr! Shrrrrreeeeeed!

“You know that you don’t have to shred those Bed, Bath, and Beyond flyers, right?”

Pause. Blink. Blink. “You have no idea why those men working at Arthur Anderson didn’t mind working overtime shredding those Enron documents, do you”?

“I hope you haven’t told Sampada that you used her gift card for a shredder”

“Nope. I hope she skips this post. Otherwise I can always tell her that she would have wanted me to get something that makes me happy.”

“And this makes you happy?”

“Right now. Yes.”

“Men.”

Whirrrrr! Shrrrrreeeeeed!

“Now what are those papers you are shredding?”

“Nothing. Just letters from our banks informing us that our online statements are now available for us to view.”

“They don’t get the whole paperless concept, do they?”

“Nope. What do you think they are, Canadians?”

“Wait! That line is from Bones and it doesn’t even fit here.”

“Yeah! Yeah! I know. I just wanted to use it”

Whirrrrr! Shrrrrreeeeeed!

    – ROFL - I want to open an account with this bank hehehe!

Supremus, and that part is entirely true. If it helps, it was Bank of America.

So I am commenting, which means I read this post!

However, I am completely thrilled that you bought a shredder. I’ve used one before, and they are incredibly therapeutic! Guess what? I’m saving all the junk mail and bringing them there next time. So add shredding to the agenda, besides the drinking, of course!

Shredders are fun toys…I can’t wait to get mine. I am sick of having to do all the shredding myself. There is a mountain so high in my dining room I can’t find my table!!

  5. Niket Says:

Wachovia did that to me too. Several phone calls later, they informed me that they can’t go completely paperless.

Its my cousin-in-law that gets those bills now. I hope he is having as much fun with his shredder (he has the cool zig-zag types) as you are.

Looks like u and my husband share a hobby now :D He likes to shred a few bed bath and beyond catalogs just to ‘add color to the heap’..hopefully u haven’t reached that stage yet :D

Sampada, Heh. I expected you to. BTW that wasn’t the only thing I got with the card.

JC, our situation isn’t that bad yet.

Niket, I guess the heart’s in the right place but bureaucracy demands otherwise.

sqrl, I knew it that the pleasures of shredding aren’t new. and nope, currently just seeing white shreds makes me clap with joy. Color may follow as seasons change.
