If you’re new here, you may want to subscribe to my RSS feed or email alerts. Thanks for visiting!Yesterday’s shocker on ‘House’ was Lawrence Kuttner (Kal Penn) getting killed off unexpectedly. Sad because his character was just getting interesting and pivotal to the show. Fox even has an online obituary for his character which [...]

Sanjay Gupta for Surgeon General

President-elect Barack Obama has offered the job of surgeon general to Dr. Sanjay Gupta, the neurosurgeon and correspondent for CNN and CBS, according to two sources with knowledge of the situation [source].

[via Uberdesi] If true and it most likely seems to be, this might be one of the high-profile appointments for an Indian-American (move over, [...]

Macaca in Denver

Congratulations to Sepia Mutiny for getting credentialed at the 2008 Democratic National Convention in Denver. Thanks to their tireless efforts, there will finally be a desi presence [from the blogosphere] at the national stage in American politics. Let’s hope they don’t have to cover a brokered convention.

We are the best. Or are we?

We have a new Miss India – the most beautiful woman in India, screams the master of ceremonies as the stage is showered with confetti. Pakkya shakes his head and points his stubby finger at the flickering screen and says, apni mohalle ki Champa jyada khabsoorat hai. Yeh chhori kuch khaas nahi! (Champa from our [...]

The Desi Network

Few days back, as I sat in a coffee shop late at night doing my reading for the week, I got a call from a friend. We were went to the same high school and ended up attending the same junior college, practically as ‘bench-mates’. We came to the United States on the same flight; [...]
