The 2006 Indibloggies Winners

The results for the 2006 Indibloggies are out. I was surprised to see DesiPundit sweep both the categories it was nominated in. The design category was a bit more closely-fought but it was a no-contest in the Directory/Service/Clique. In spite of the grumblings and ranting about our so-called bias or quality, we still seem to have a sizable chunk of the blogosphere rooting for us. That’s heartening news. Also, IndiCast emerged on the top in the Podcast category although the competition with Kamla Bhatt was quite close. I enjoy both podcasts as they have totally different styles and flair.

In other categories, Great Bong’s Random Thoughts of a Demented Mind trumped over Amit Varma’s India Uncut. Considering the fan following he has [evident in his comments], it was only inevitable after a close contest last year. To top that, he also claimed the Humorous Blog award. Personally, I was glad to see Atanu, Saffron Tree, Biological Conclusion, Falstaff, Trivial Matters, Digital Inspiration, and Mahanandi among the winners too. Congrats to y’all.
