I always thought SNL loved Hillary but obviously in this introductory sketch on the Petraeus questioning this past week, McCain and Clinton get the brunt of the attack. As for Obama, well, you can’t make fun of a guy who opposed the war right from the start unlike those people who claim to. Obviously cursory knowledge of the current affairs of the United States is important in understanding the humor. For those who like to claim they ‘hate politics’, please move on.

Obama’s voting record on Iraq war-related bills in the Senate has been very similar to Clinton’s though, but has been given a spin of “caution, nuanced.”
Here’s more on Obama:

Amit, I beg to differ. Senate voting records are restricted to defence or Iraq war appropriations and any major policy change is directed by the White House or the Pentagon. Any rebukes or suggestions for war policy are made through non-binding resolutions which often have to bend to become virtually ineffective due to political realities. However candidates for President have an unique opportunity of getting people’s attention for the opinions on the conduct of war. Here Clinton’s so-called experience fails her because it lets her examine her voting record authorizing the war when in fact her dissenting vote then could have been the single most important factor.
Anyway, I’ve rambled on for far too long.

Oh, I think you misunderstood - I’m not letting Clinton off the hook here. :)

Amit, I guess I did :) Apologies for ranting off. All this spin gets me riled up at times.

Well, clearly these folks don’t have much to say about Senator Obama in terms of parody. When Hillary drops out, I guess all of their guns will be turned on, er… veteran McCain.
