Heard of Fox News’ ridiculous terror alert for Mr.and Mrs. Obama’s fist bump? I guess, George Bush senior is a terrorist fist jabber too. Media Matters has compiled a gallery of similar fist bumps asking Fox News if the people featured are terrorists as well.
I don’t understand how can a news anchor get away by implying that a Presidential nominee is a terrorist. Fox News might claim that they were simply reporting the different opinions out there. Well, just because it is out there doesn’t mean you have to report it. The Internets has much more crazy stuff. Are you going to report it all? And of course, chest bumping is much more presidential, right?
Update: The anchor over at Fox News, E.D. Hill who started it all has lost her show, America’s Pulse although she will continue at Fox News under a still-undetermined position. I guess she never did have her hand on the pulse of the nation.

Fox news fox news - I love fox news for precisely this kind of headless brainless reporting. Poor Obama - he will now bear the brunt of having a name like Obama…..

This is just a sampling/appetizer of the main course that will come Obama’s way. Of course, Fox news will carry such reports because they have to “report” on them and are just doing their job. American society’s acceptance to sexism has been exposed - now get ready for some ugly stuff masquerading under free speech. Let the stupidities begin.
Ugh, these are the months when I’d rather be living elsewhere, and come back only after the elections are over in November.

Supremus, at least having a long primary season got rid of the obvious mud-slinging. The ridiculousness of this misreporting shows that Faux News is struggling to find dirt. Of course, doesn’t mean they won’t.
Amit, True. But hopefully Obama’s campaign has braced itself and will be fighting back more than Kerry did. That might make an interesting next few months.

I guess if one were to actually watch the Fox News clip one might come away with a different opinion of the Fox News segment.
If anything that segment by Edie Hill, Fox News debunks the view of the Obama gesture as a “terrorist fist jab” or other such nonsense.
But when it is oh so uber-cool to bash Fox News why let facts meddle with an opinion.

Vinay, I actually watched the Fox News clip and also its repeated broadcasts on several news shows. E.D.Hill did not debunk the ‘terrorist fist jab’ (no one saw it that way) but in fact offered it as one of the interpretations. We don’t start out by trying to bash Fox News but can’t help it when they make such egregious errors.
