Yellow Wins

If you're new here, you may want to subscribe to my RSS feed or email alerts. Thanks for visiting!

I am convinced that wearing yellow jerseys helps you dominate the sport. For e.g. Brazil’s yellow jerseys have helped it win a record 5 World Cups including a record eight matches (after yesterday’s win against Croatia) on the trot in World Cup games. This is an amazing record considering that only seven nations have managed to win the World Cup in seventeen editions.

Consider the other sport, cricket. Australia with their bright yellow and patches of green suits have dominated the world of cricket since their first World Cup win in 1987. Their three World Cup wins are also a record not likely to be equaled let alone surpassed any time soon unless West Indies unexpectedly rises from the ashes.

I bet all that yellow is just a distraction ploy. See, we can wear yellow and still play better than you. Now I wonder, which country will risk losing the yellows (as opposed to whites) when Brazil plays Australia in their group match.

PS. Too bad, Georgia Tech’s Yellow Jackets nomenclature is just not working anymore; probably it is too obvious. It didn’t work for Ozzie-wannabe Togo either.

For too long you have been spared of my daft comments :)

I think you have a point here! I mean, who would think anyone who wears yellow can actually play!

How about Indians switching to Yellow jerseys, though considering our football skills, we probably need yellow underwear too, preferably worn inside out. :)

Confused, I was beginning to wonder if your rise to the A-list bloggers had caused you to neglect my blog.

LOL! you are right; Indians would have to do a lot more things yellow if we even stand a chance of qualifying let alone win the Cup.

    Patrix,

Lol@A list bloggers. Now you too are going to take shots at me!

Bloglines makes it so easy to read blogs, that sometimes one is too lazy to comment since for that you actually have to come to the blog. And you know what, write a 10 line post about a religious issue and sigh!

Rest assured, you shall not be spared now. :)

Cycling infact, gives the race leader a yellow jersey! Barca changed to fluroscent (close to yellow) for away games to neutralise their bad luck of last season and won the Champions League this time!

On another note, there was a case for red as well - Bulls, Ferrari, Windies.

Despite being anti-Chelsea, I hope the blue era comes and we see India dominate. Wishful thinking and nothing more!

Confused, bloglines has virtually killed my commenting habit too…was a fervent commenter in the heydays of blogging…now content to comment on few faves.

, I nearly forgot about the cycling yellow jersey…reinforces my theory. Red is so passe now…it is the age of yellow now. Blue, IMO will take a while to catch on. Hope we don’t change colors when its turn comes.

Have another idea…why doesnt the Indian team simply inject the jaundice virus into itself..then they would be yellow in the true sense.

Great observation….did you mention the Los Angeles Lakers ???……….I just don’t like them..but they were on a roll not too long back…

  8. Patrix Says:

    IndianArchie, I’m sorry..that was a “sick” joke…didn’t work for me :)

Bryan, Oh yeah! they too…also ties in with Pratyush’s Red theory when Bulls were the rage.
